Friends of Pontardawe Arts Centre (FoPAC) is pleased to announce the completion of a new socio‑economic impact study exploring the role of Pontardawe Arts Centre in the life of the community and the wider Swansea Valley.
The study, carried out by independent consultants and supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Neath Port Talbot Council, brings together interviews, surveys, financial information, and programme data to build a detailed picture of how the Arts Centre contributes to local wellbeing, cultural participation, community life, and the regional economy.
The research examines how people use the Centre, how it supports local businesses, how its activities benefit residents of all ages, and how recent developments — including the new cinema and refurbished spaces — are shaping future opportunities. It also captures the voices of audiences, partners, local organisations, and businesses, offering a rich insight into why the Centre is so valued.
A full breakdown of findings, themes, and recommendations is included in the complete report.
The full study will be available to download from this website on 20th January 2026.
